The Classic Hatch is designed exclusively for vertical tiled walls in areas like bathrooms, kitchens, or utility spaces. It installs easily into brick, concrete, or drywall substrates and blends seamlessly with tiled surfaces.
What tile types is it compatible with?
It works with most standard ceramic tiles, stone tiles, and lightly veneered finishes. For unusually heavy or thick tiles, we recommend contacting our team to confirm suitability or consider a reinforced model.
Can I install this hatch on the ceiling or floor?
No — the Classic Hatch is intended for vertical wall installations only. For floor access, check out our products section.
Does the hatch sit flush with the tile surface?
Yes. Once tiled over, the hatch sits nearly invisible within the tiled surface, maintaining a clean and uninterrupted aesthetic. Only a thin, subtle joint line is visible.
How does the hatch open and close?
It uses a German Mini Latch push-to-open mechanism. Just press lightly on the hatch door — no suction cups, knobs, or external tools required.
Can I get this hatch in a custom size?
Yes. The Classic Hatch is available in standard sizes (from 200 mm to 1200 mm), as well as custom sizes and configurations — including double-leaf options for larger openings.
Can this be used in wet rooms or near showers?
The Classic Hatch can be used in bathrooms and damp environments, but it must not be exposed to direct water jets. For wet rooms or high-moisture zones, proper sealing and waterproofing around the tile edges are essential.
Is this hatch suitable for outdoor use?
It’s primarily designed for indoor use. For outdoor or non-standard applications, please contact us — we’ll advise on the best hatch or offer a custom solution.
Is it difficult to install?
No — installation is straightforward. It fits neatly into a cut-out in brick, drywall, or concrete, and the door-frame fit is precise and secure. Competent tilers or builders can install it with no issues.

Get rid of those ugly Loft hatches with something sleak.

We were looking for something to replace our ugly plastic loft hatches that have been a blight on our house for 10 years. After some on-line searching found just what we were looking for from 'Hatch Hub' just not in the size we wanted.
